Talent Acquisition Specialist, Junior - General

Reporting to the Talent Acquisition Manager; the Junior Talent Acquisition Specialist supports the Talent Acquisition team in all facets of recruitment, and coordinates directly with the People & Culture team members in the coordination on new hire onboarding.

While our studio remains in beautiful Kitsilano, Vancouver, we have transitioned all of our staff to work from home during these difficult times of the COVID-19 outbreak. Our technology allows our employees to log in remotely to our on-site workstations with little or no noticeable difference from the way they worked in our studio. We now have team members working all across BC, and are happy to consider that option into the future for many positions!

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Overall support for the TA team and ensuring accuracy throughout the recruitment and onboarding processes.
  • Posting new positions on various websites, ensuring their accuracy; reposting as needed to maintain inflow of applications. Work closely with the Talent Acquisition Manager to ensure the appropriate details are utilized for postings.
  • Supporting the ongoing development in branding for recruitment purposes with Job Postings, Swag / Booth Materials, Social Media posts etc.
  • Attending career fairs and portfolio shows as a representative of Mainframe Studios. 
  • Maintaining strong communication with candidates during interactions; escalate questions as needed.
  • Scheduling interviews as needed for candidates with the appropriate hiring managers.
  • Conducting reference checks, and preparing and sending offer letters. 
  • Conduct the initial phase of onboarding by notifying various internal parties of the new hire in a timely manner.
  • Support the People & Culture team in further onboarding, as needed.
  • Assist in the maintenance of accurate data in the Maintain the Applicant Tracking System (JazzHR), and sort applications on a daily basis as directed by the Talent Acquisition Manager.
  • Administer referral gifts to employees.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Post-secondary degree/diploma in Human Resources, Communications, Commerce, or equivalent work experience.
  • 1 year experience in an Administration, HR or Recruitment is preferred.
  • Knowledge of recruiting processes is a strong asset.
  • Knowledge of the VFX or animation industries is an asset.
  • Proficient in MS Office and Google Suite, and highly capable at learning new software.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • High energy with the ability to easily build rapport.
  • Adaptable to change and comfortable in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.  Quick learner with a passion for entertainment and animation.
